In our exploration of trauma, we’ve touched on the importance of understanding and acknowledging our experiences. But what about support? Healing from trauma isn't something we have to do alone—in fact, having a support system can make a world of difference.
Whether it's friends, family, a therapist, or a support group, surrounding yourself with people who understand and validate your experiences can be incredibly empowering. They provide a safe space to share your feelings, and they can offer different perspectives and coping strategies.
There are so many different support groups out there. Let Google be your guide!
Creating a support system takes time and effort, but it's worth it. Start by reaching out to those you trust and let them know what you need.
Therapists like yours truly have tons of resources we're always happy to share. If there's something specific you're looking for support with, let me know—I’d love to point you in a helpful direction.
Sometimes, just being heard or sitting with people who truly get it can be incredibly healing.
Do you have a support system in place?
If not, let's brainstorm ways to build one together.
All the best,
Hannah
