I couldn't sleep. So instead of using my own insomnia-banishing skills, which include:
Constructive worrying for 15 minutes
Reading in the living room with dim lighting
Listening to classical music while coloring
Gentle stretching
I decided to rewrite the lyrics to a silly song.

I love DBT skills and I cannot lie,
No other shrink can deny,
When a client walks in and they’re in distress,
Claimin' their life is a big ol' mess,
I get excited, yeah, my passion’s ignited,
Gonna teach 'em all the skills to stay [wise-mind] united!
Mindfulness, yeah, that’s the deal,
Helps 'em check in with how they feel,
They start to breathe, they start to see,
Regulating all that anxiety.

So they can lower distress and regulate!
And TIP skills, yeah, they’re clutch,
When distress gets to be too much,
Ice, exercise, and slowin’ that breath,
Brings them back from the edge of distress!
I love DBT and I cannot lie,
Therapists, you can’t deny,
That when a client learns and they make gains,
It’s a win, calming down those brains!
